Envivio Adds Service-Oriented Video Monitoring Option to Guru
Monitoring video delivery has become increasingly complicated, video-over-IP company Envivio says, due to the increase in consumer devices and the amount of data to monitor. To help customers prioritize trouble spots and respond to problems faster, the company is introducing a new option for Guru, it's head-end monitoring product.
The new option provides services-oriented monitoring, meaning that it lists 问题 based on the services they impact, rather than on the type of equipment involved.
Envivio suggests that customers could use this option to prioritize 问题 with premium channels, flagging those first. That way, customers can quickly solve problems that impact higher revenue streams.
Guru has new graphics (shown below) that make this monitoring solution easy to use. Customers can see alarm states for channels, services, and equipment arranged by importance.
“We’ve created this disruptive ‘service-oriented’ approach to head-end monitoring based on operator input and an exhaustive analysis of potential scenarios, 问题, and best practice mechanisms at every level,” says Boris Felts, Envivio’s vice president of products and solutions.
Envivio promises that the services-oriented solution will display status 信息 in real-time, identify problems by importance, and offer a drill-down process form service impact to equipment. The solution is available as a separate purchase.
